We use a cashless catering system for the purchasing of school meals. P1-5 receive a free school meal which is still ordered through this system.

By eating a school meal provided by East Dunbartonshire Council’s School Meals Service your child is guaranteed a balanced nutritious meal to keep them healthy and alert throughout the school day.

The meals are freshly cooked on a daily basis by our skilled staff who care about food and your child’s wellbeing. Our staff will help your child to make balanced choices. The meals meet the Scottish Government’s nutritional regulations.

Any Special diets or allergies should be discussed with the school.

Facilities are also available within the school for children who wish to bring a packed lunch. Please note glass bottles and cans are not permitted. Nuts and nut related products, such as peanut butter, must not be included in lunch boxes due to the fact that there are an increasing number of children with severe nut related allergies.

BALDERNOCK PRIMARY IS A NUT FREE SCHOOL.

We are moving to cashless catering for the purchasing of school meals.

A new combined online application form for free school meals, free nursery meals and school clothing grants was launched in July 2020.
